01 — HER STORY

One life.
Countless seeds.

A teacher. A disciple-maker.
A beloved part of the Navigators Kenya family.

Read the Navigators tribute

Some lives are measured not in years, but in the people they help to grow.

Sarah Mwayitsi Mutua was among the first students discipled by Navigators missionaries at the beginning of the University Ministry. Raised by parents who loved and faithfully served the Lord, she carried that heritage of faith into her own life.

After university, Sarah taught at a Nairobi high school, where she also discipled the girls. In 1978, she took a pioneering step into full-time ministry as the first Kenyan Gift Income Person (GIP).

She went on to serve for many years on the national leadership team. Her passion for equipping women took her across English- and French-speaking Africa, and she served as team leader for the women’s ministry in Africa.

Fondly known as Auntie Sarah, she leaves a legacy of discipleship, partnership and faithful service. We remember her with love, and hold her family and all who knew her in our prayers.
